Live and computer-based simulation fosters an iterative approach to improvements which can be tested before ever impacting a patient.

Using Simul8 software, multiple scenarios have been utilized to determine best practice for acuity-based patient flow in the ED, clinic scheduling, nurse scheduling protocols and specific clinical protocols for high-mortality diagnosis.

Once best practices are determined, areas which are shallow on data or have human factors which lend themselves to pilot testing are brought to the simulation center and run with real staff, in real environments, with simulated patients. These combined approaches allows for a highly-reliable process in frontline practice.
